History & Lore of Aquamarine
Sailors in the Middle Ages carried aquamarine as a talisman against drowning, believing the stone was a treasure from the mermaids’ kingdom. Roman fortune-tellers gazed into aquamarine to see the future, and it has long symbolized a happy marriage when exchanged between partners.
Linked to the throat chakra, aquamarine is called the stone of courage and clear voice. Wearing it close to the throat is believed to soothe fear of speaking and bring honest words to difficult conversations.
Symbolism: Courage, serenity, and clear communication.
